We consider a vital emergency any pathology involving imminent life-threatening or that may provoke an irreversible physical damage if it is not immediately assisted.
Emergencies must be coordinated by the RAD calling the telephone number that appear in the health cards 900 900 118. In order to have coverage in an external medical centre, the patient must be moved taking into account the place, time and pathology, as well as the ability of the patient to decide or the people that provide him first aid.
Body injuries or damages caused in the line of duty by people or organised gangs are always considered as vital emergencies.
In case of vital emergency the insured may be exceptionally assisted in external centres whenever it is notified to the entity in the period of time established by the mutual insurance company and providing the documentation that proves an extreme emergency hospitalization for the authorization.
There are three cases considered as exceptional cases:
-
Vital emergency cases: The insured may be exceptionally assisted in external centres whenever it is notified to the entity in the period established by the mutual insurance company (48 hours), and providing the information that proves the hospitalization because of an extreme emergency in order to obtain the authorization.
-
Traffic accident cases and others: Asisa will provide all the necessary health care due to the accident or possible deterioration of the illness although that the costs will be claimed to the insurance company of the car responsible for the accident.
-
